The leg warmers are very soft and stretch with the baby. They are 80% Cotton, 18% Nylon, 2% Spandex and size as follows:

Newborn - 3 months recommended for babies up to 15lbs

REGULAR....3 months and up over 15lbs - Fits babies, toddlers and up to young children

The regular will fit newborn but will be loose and fit up to the top of the thigh, but the baby will be able to grow into them and wear longer.

Hand washing and laying flat to dry is recommended. If you want to machine wash, wash in cold on delicate cycle and lay flat to dry.
